Nestled in the rain forest and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Villa El Cantico is located in Manuel Antonio, above one of the most beautiful coastal areas in Costa Rica. This is where the rain forest literally reaches down to meet the sea in one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. The name "El Cantico" means "The Melody" and reflects the private symphony of tropical sights and sounds that await you.
El Cantico includes six air conditioned bedrooms (1 king, 5 queens, 2 twin beds, plus 1 media room with a queen sofa bed), four full baths, plus one pool bath. It comfortably sleeps 10-14 guests. Each bedroom is fully appointed and includes a private balcony or terrace.
The spacious great room with 30-foot ceiling is designed to bring in sea breezes and jungle sounds. The three story bay windows overlooking the rainforest and Pacific ocean create a personal theater for viewing wildlife and jungle scenery. The fully equipped kitchen was designed as the "heart of the home". The entertainment/media room is equipped with a home theater for indoor entertaining. The office (which also acts as an additional seventh bedroom) has a computer, printer and high-speed Internet access.

In February 2001, Melissa and husband Kevin travelled to the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica on an ecotourism vacation. They fell in love with the country, the natural beauty, and the warmth and friendliness of the Costa Rican people. Today, they share the Costa Rica experience with others, helping plan their ultimate dream vacation.
They specialize in the Manuel Antonio / Quepos area providing you with personalized service and accurate information on the best tours, activities, and restaurants in the area.
Living in Manuel Antonio and personally managing Villa El Cantico, Melissa is able to provide direct first class service to our guests. Melissa can help to make your vacation in Costa Rica an exciting adventure, full of novel and memorable experiences.
Personal chef included
The guests of Villa El Cantico enjoy the benefit of a private chef to prepare up to three meals per day during their stay. That includes doing the shopping, preparation, cooking and clean up!
Melissa will help cooridinate every detail from the menu selection, dietary restrictions and other preferences.
Once you've selected your menu, the chef will do the shopping for the ingredients. You just reimburse the chef for the cost of the groceries.

"We just returned from ten days at Villa el Cantico. What a perfect destination for an intimate wedding/holiday! We are so pleased that we picked this very special house to hold our daughter's wedding. Twelve of us from two families (Canadian and Australian) stayed at the Villa and had a truly magical time!
Our daughter and son-in-law exchanged their vows on one of the house's beautiful balconies, surrounded by the rainforest, with the park's ocean beaches as the backdrop. The monkeys came to pass on their congratulations and the pictures we took on the beach with the sunset will be treasured forever.
Melissa was a tremendous help both in the advance planning for the wedding and on the day itself, freeing us to thoroughly enjoy every aspect of the celebration. Through e-mail and phone correspondence she helped us arrange the photographer and videographer (excellent pictures!), officiating the event (a lovely ceremony), the flowers (the house and bouquets were gorgeous) the wedding dinner and cake (at a nearby restaurant - delicious food and a delightful setting) ,and a spa day in advance of the wedding. We have never felt so pampered and cared for in our lives.
The housekeeping staff and Melissa welcomed us so warmly and anticipated our needs so well (the massages at the house were divine!) that we feel we have been spoiled for future vacation destinations. The Villa is inviting – large enough that people can spread out, but well-planned for relaxing and re-connecting with family. It is also very well- maintained and ideally situated - very private, surrounded by lush vegetation, close to the beaches and to the small town of Quepos.
All-in-all, we would highly recommend this spot to anyone wanting to combine a wedding in a fairy tale setting with a vacation that can be as action packed or as lazily decadent as your heart desires. This is my favourite warm weather destination! Without question, we will be returning."

"My family and I spent a week in Costa Rica and rented this spectacular home. Melissa, the Property Manager, and her team were extremely helpful in assisting us with our every need ranging from making our reservation to arranging airport transportation and booking excursions such as the Canopy Tour and ATV riding. We went so far as to pay a little extra so that the home included a cook! Renzo was fantastic creating wonderful meals for breakfast and dinner which included our cocktails, appetizers, as well as a main dish and desert. The fish and meat were always fresh and Renzo makes some fantastic sauces.
The house is spacious and modern and can easily accomodate 14 people. The best part of the house was that there was a wonderful ocean view and yet it was situated in the rain forest admongst the wildlife. We had white faced monkeys come down from the trees most every day to visit. Sloths sleeping in the trees nearby as well as tropical birds made the enviornment spectacular.
I would highly recommend this house for any family or group looking for a unique experience and tropical getaway."

The view and location were great - required some trekking to beaches and town for the able bodied - although transportation was readily available too.
