Villa Vigia, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, sits on a hill high above the Pacific with sweeping views of the crescent beaches of nearby Manuel Antonio National Park. It is a pleasantly secluded setting yet convenient to the restaurants and attractions of the area.
You will awake to the sounds of tropical birds and enjoy the daily parade of wildlife about the property. Capuchin, titi and congo monkeys often traipse through the adjacent jungle and put on a delightful show for house guests. At the end of the day enjoy the sunset from the lookout tower for which Villa Vigia is named. After dark enjoy the jasmine and orchid scented night air. Read More

Your hosts, Kent & Estela
Kent and Estela met in Manuel Antonio in 2006 and have two beautiful daughters, Amaya and Aliana. Kent is originally from Colorado and moved to Costa Rica in 1998 to work with Outward Bound after a two-year stint in the Peace Corps in Guatemala. In 2001, he left to explore more of the world, but in 2006 was drawn back by Manuel Antonio’s natural beauty and Costa Rica’s cultural warmth. It’s no surprise that he should find and marry beautiful, warm Estela.
Estela was born and raised in Heredia, near San José, and has also done her share of traveling, primarily in the U.S. and Europe. She has been in Manuel Antonio since 2006 and still, to this day, boasts about living in the most beautiful place in Costa Rica. These days, her adventurous spirit has turned towards bringing up the two most gorgeous ‘gringuiticas’ in the entire country.
We look forward to meeting you!

B Family - New York/Los Angeles
"We rented Villa Vigia through Dave and Mauricio at Tulemar Luxury Rentals. Dave and Mauricio are honest and make every effort to accommodate their guests. While Dave told us he would handle all the arrangements until he dropped us with the capable staff at Villa Vigia, he and Mauricio went out of their way to keep in touch. The pictures on the website do not begin to describe the magnificent setting of Villa Vigia. Greeted in the entry by Damien with a tropical drink, our magical stay began.
Villa Vigia has three large bedrooms and full baths. Set on the hill above the Manuel Antonio beaches, the floor to ceiling windows provide a panoramic view of the coastline. The infinity pool overlooks the water and beach below. The kitchen is a chef's dream. Massive french doors open to charming terraces throughout the villa.
While the property and house are inviting, the heart of the Villa is the wonderful staff. Their dedication to Villa Vigia and comfort of their guests exceeded out expectations. Damien and Greg, the concierges, appreciate and care for Villa Vigia and strive to provide a memorable vacation. Chelsea, the chef, individualizes the menu to meet the needs of her guests.
As renowned New York designers, Damien and Greg, were commissioned by the owner to live in Manuel Antonio and furnish Villa Vigia for a year. That was eight years ago. During this time, they have become experts on the activities, best guides, restaurants and wildlife in Manuel Antonio. Frankly, the area surrounding Villa Vigia provided us with more wildlife citing than our tour of Manuel Antonio Park. Monkeys played on the trees outside our windows, beautiful birds, and even a sloth with her baby were pointed out by our hosts.
Chelsea, the gifted chef, was trained as a pastry chef in NY. Wedding cakes are her specialty. Although we ddn't have a chance to sample wedding cakes, Chelsea meals were superb, creative and the plates were presented with a flair. Chelsea communicated with us prior to arrival to identify our likes and dislikes, and provided us with sample menus. She even took the time to teach our son how to make crêpes and pit avocados. Greg often assisted in serving and preparation.
We would be remiss not to mention Auxiliodora, the shy and efficient housekeeper.
We ziplined, jet skiied, rode ATVs, and toured the park. Frankly, monkeys, sloths, iguanas, toads and beautiful birds are daily visitors to the property surrounding Villa Vigia. Greg and Damien are happy to point out the wildlife. After each activity, we looked forward to returning to the Villa to sit around the pool, enjoy the terraces and relax.
Of course, we did not have to worry about securing a lounge around the pool. We have spent too many vacations rising in the middle of the night to secure lounges at crowded hotels, with so-called butlers who never seem to materialize. This is the most relaxing vacation we've had in years. Can't wait to return.
Thank you Greg, Damien, Chelsea and Auxiliodora for a memorable vacation. A special thank you to Dave and Mauricio for securing the villa for our stay. We can't wait to return."
